Tiki Taka 2.0

Spain won our hearts with their tiki-taka style of play in 2010, and it looks like they might win the World Cup after 16 years. The new version is tiki-taka 2.0, and it is more aggressive and direct penetration, and they still follow the playing out from the back and maintaining control in the game as usual.

Let's see who wins the Argentina-England clash. The English still brag about the Falklands War, in which our Gorkhalis played a part in retaking the island. But they still moan about the Hand of God when Maradona did his trick to send the English home back in 1986. Well, that was 40 years ago, and late Maradona is still the talk of the town in English pubs!

What we can learn from Spain is that yes, individual skills do matter, but when it comes to winning, teamwork matters the most! Yamal has not been that lucky when it comes to scoring goals, and he may not yet have the finesse of Messi, but he is growing and glowing and will do wonders in the years to come.

Mbappé and his boys are going home. The French dream run has come to an end, and if Messi can score a goal or two, then he takes home the Golden Boot this time, unless Bellingham or Kane go crazy and score a dozen, but the odds are not that great.

If Argentina pulls it through, then we are going to see a Barcelona reunion, maybe with Messi and Yamal facing each other. If England manages to squeak past Argentina, then it will be the rematch of the Euro 2024 when Spain edged out England 2-1!

I think this World Cup has been the most exciting one since 2010. If FIFA decides to add more teams, then it is going to be a 3-month fest, and FIFA could make more billions, and maybe Nepal could one day also be a part of the World Cup.

I think most Spanish players are the same height or build as our own folks. If we can only first learn the basics from them, the tiki-taka version, and then finally follow the same formula they do now with more attacking and direct penetration, then we could be thrashing the likes of not Japan but China and India every other week.

The world's two most populous nations have failed to make their mark in the global stage. The Chinese are good at the Olympics. The Indians are good at cricket. And we Nepalis, despite the lack of resources and funding, still perform quite well in the South Asian region when it comes to football and cricket.

I think our women's football team has far better chances of qualifying for the FIFA Women's World Cup than our lads! I think it's time we devote more funds and resources to our women's team. Our Samba and Preeti Rai and the other ladies have shown the world that they can play, and in a few years, they will be done playing competitively.

It's time we train our 10-year-old girls, and hope this new government makes it their mission to make us a football powerhouse in Asia in a decade. I am not trying to bash down our boys, but when it comes to our ladies, they have performed ten times better in the past decade.

Well, let's see who wins the Argentina-England match? We never know what happens in football. The French were the favorites, but they were shut down effectively by the Spaniards. Argentina has been lucky along the way, and let's see if God still favors Messi or will Bellingham and Kane finally do their magic to take England to the World Cup finals after 60 years of wishing it was coming Home!
