Hi, I need to get a new passport to replace the one that is expiring soon. I am debating with myself on whether I should apply for one at the Nepalese Embassy in Washington DC or back in Kathmandu on my next visit. Could you share your recent passport renewal experience at Nepalese embassy in Washington DC. I got a new one from there about 4 and a half years ago. The handwriting sucks and there was also a correction made with tipex or wite-out. I was really frustrated with their negligence given that passport is such an important document that we have to carry all along and show to various authorities at airport immigration of different countries, international office at colleges and universities etc. When there is such a correction (even if it is done by the authorities at the embassy), other people can easily doubt about the genuineness of the passport itself. In addition, I had to make several calls just to confirm that the passport was mailed out. Let me know what you people suggest. Thanks. Regards, Atmaram

When i was leaving the country, the almost gave me a hard time saying why did the people in DC write in blue ink when the requirement is black ink. I was like..... I dont know!!! Anyway, my passport is also expiring soon and need to get it renewed. I guess i will do via washington........no choice :)
