When i was back home i always thought of America as the ultimate fantasy. I was so naive to think that the moment i landed here life would automatically be good.Think about it for a moment "nepali haru ko life satndard kahan ramro cha-america ma ki nepal ma".

Depends what color of glasses you are wearing.

Indeed, you have to work hard to attain the American Dream, but it is possible.

If your family is very well to do in Nepal, perhaps you will have better life there. But if you are of a middle class family with not much of heriditary wealth, then perhaps, you can do better in Uhmrikkaaa!

It is entirely upto a person's horizon and the way he enjoys his/her life.If you work hard and believe yourself, you would have very good opportunity in Nepal.Since, you are either from middle class or high class family, you might be happy with what you have.

The scene will be entirely different when you come to USA.You need to start from scratch, you start looking for good opportunity, work hard to get good life and you change yourself.Ultimately, you are creating your opportunity.

If you had planned your career back home and worked hard as you were doing here, you would have seen lots of opportunity back home.

Any land is land of opporutnity as well as misery.

I totally agree with what h1b said," we have to start from scratch" but being an international student here is just awful. I work my ass off to pay for the college. After that there is nothing left for fulfilling my additional wants. So for now America has only been the land of misery and suffering.
