Would love to see these boys from the "Hills" (Darj) come and rock the Diaspora here in the US someday!  ANA organizers, listening??

Anyone else listened to these cats whose music is so reminiscent of the glam-rock guitar shredding solos and love ballads of the 80s and early 90s?  The legacy of the Hill peeps keeping the Nepali music scene tight and having a wider appeal is proven once again.  Keep posting their songs.

Ladies and bokas, I present to you, Mantra Band:

Timi Bina

Sanskriti

And the most famous of all the songs (Bir Gorkhali: Updated Version):

Van Halen riffs or not, Mantra surely consisits of a tru hard-rock/guitar shredder in their midst...Not surprising to see someone from Dazz be able to do it.

BTW, anyone remember the andolan days and the curfews/strikes that went along with it?  The legend goes that since the youngsters were not permitted by their parents to be roaming the streets, all they could do was sit home and strum their guitars (or jam up with the neighbors)...By the time the 40 day curfew/strike back in 1988 was over, Darj was teeming with atleast 50 NEW bands haray!!  Only in Dazzling...LMAO

Finally, anyone has Mantra's Mayalu and can post the link here?  Couldn't find it on youtube.  Man, thats another great song.

yea i agreee that matra's soloing and some riffs and tone sound like van halen but i guess its because they must have been inspired from them and there is nothing wrong when these things get reflected in their music.. They sound cool.

cheers to mantra...
