Ipad 2 is not much of improvement over Ipad 1.
If you are looking for value, buy Ipad 1 it's only $349 (It's price gonna go down, just wait till Back to Summer Deal from Apple)
But you wanna go with trend ipad's for you
2 cameras + 25% faster (Not Drastic Fast, but ok) + Smart Cover (Marketing Stratergy) ==> $150 for all that

But if you didn't liked ipad 1 you wo'nt like ipad 2.

Bottom Line tablets are in forsure...

Personal experience, ipad's awesome for reading books, watching shows on netflix / hulu, browsing web and if you use hand to eat rice, you will love ipad forsure.. ;)  (There you go Nepali Kaida Badho Faida..) Youtube is great
Cons can't watch DIVX, No HDMI (with ipad1)

but still awesome accesory to have.

Due to uprising obesity, people are researching on Asian culture on eating food by hand.  I could not get your point which direction you are pointing it. I am trying to put some good points on use of hand.
     1) When we use our hands we play foods with fingers and it's nerve sensor has direct connection with the brain interact differently b than the uut positively. 
   2) When you use hand we eat slowler than utensils. .
   3) Brain takes time to use its sensor when you are full and when to stop, it has direct positive relation with metabolism.
Along with hand eating and Asian spice combination body gets essential ingredients,  you name it. Should not be shame on our culture as well should not hesitate to embrace new things as well. But you should know when not to use hand.

Just out of curiosity, why should one have Ipad?

The iPad does a lot — Web browsing, e-mail, photos, music, movies, games, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, e-books — but you'll notice that it doesn't do anything your other devices don't, and in many cases your other devices do those things better. The difference lies in what you can do with the iPad. You can pick it up. You can rest it in your lap. You can pass it around. You can leave it on a coffee table. You can tuck it in a bag. You can one-hand it while reading on a train.

This is why I don't want iPad:
1. Bad cameras
2. Resolution not optimized.
3. Memory minimal, bad for multitasking.
4. Storage is limited.
5. No true HDMI out.
6. Most software are apple proprietary and only play on apple systems.

Check other tablets in the market, they are better.

Got my iPad2.  One word: AWESOME.

Worth every penny. 

Now am trying to figure out what apps to load up.  Any suggestion?

I don't own an iPad but RITEN I will definitely hook u up with some app names later, google is free at where I live

garage Band and iMovie.
As for me, I am going android route.

iPad 2 is awesome gadget to own man!!! I'm loving my 64gig iPad 2 as much as my girl. Bought it on 2nd day of its release date via craigslist. Don't ask how much cash money, its a pricey bitch.

 Dont Buy IPAD2.. the apple insider flashed that the ipad3 will be launched in this fall only
