What he does should be the best for him. Who cares about the rest...ofcourse if you have gf/wife then you gotta respect their wishes. About trimming or shaving your wish.

It feels good when you shave your armpits. I do it on a regular basis because it reduces the smell there. Also I shave my groin area. It feels marvelous. I do not know why you guys feel like a gay but I feel pretty gay after shaving. I started shaving after coming to the USA. The same goes to scraping my tongue. Taking bath is a different story .. I used to take bath in cold, cold water at 5:00am early in the morning every single day. I still keep this habit. The benefit is I have never been seriously sick of anything for the past 30 years.. I do get a throat ache once in six months or so, but again my medicine is simple... go to bed for a day. Yankies could not put up with my armpit smell, although I could smell their nasty "had sex and did not take a bath" frequently. Sometimes they use such a strong perfume it makes you sick. The defense was to stay clean. (Needless to say they do not mind their dogs' smell.) Regarding breath, I am a regular teeth brusher, thanks to my dad. But after coming to the US, the kind of food I eat provokes the Yakies' nose. The breath was also intolerable to them. I used all kind of mints and liquid, including expensive Thera Breath, no lasting solution. But finally I invented my own solution. Now I know the different types of smell that come from the stomach, throat, tongue, back of teeth, nose and tonsils. I have a very good solution, cheap too. The trick is knowing where it is coming from. You guys might have thought I'm quite smelly.. hold on, guys. If we meet you will find that I'm fresh. My point is, not to bow down in front of those people who intrinsically tend to dislike our smells. Keep fresh and clean! This will be a part of your success story in the US.

Unless you are an athelete or body builder, i don't see the reason to shave the armpit. But its all personla choice. The key is to be clean, healthy and not offend anyone with your smell. Taking showers daily and using deodorant should be enough to keep off body odor, however, every deodorant are differnet, so feel free to dry different brand if you feel the one you are using is not working for you. IF YOU CAN SMELL YOURSELF, TURST ME, OTHERS CAN. As far as oral hygene goes, spend some $$$ in a good Sonic Care. Believe me, you won't believe how nice and good that is. Second step is to use tongue scraper and use dental floss DAILY. Dental floss have also proven to lower you risk of heart disease. Once again, i strongly recommend you guys to invest in Sonic Care electric toothbrush.

Hushpuppy said "Did you stink a lot before you used Sonic care...jus kiddin'' No Dear, but this reminded me of something else... and do use Mouthwash. I am one of those persons who gets annoyed if someone has bad breath or body odor and won't be shy to let them know. I am sure few people reading this forum can use some of these advices.

Also, in the same vein, if you cannot smell your body does not mean others cannot and have not.
