hi i am married with us citizen. we got married before 15 months but i got my iv visa just 2 months ago and now am here in us but and i have my green card and social secury number. my problem is i don't have any relation with my husband we just got married so that he can halp me got here and now its being so bad he treats me bad make me feel bad all the time so i wanna divorce him . what happens to my green card and ssnumber plz advice.

just search a sajha thread two or three days back. there is a nepali man who got married to US girl but before he got his citizenship oath he is been divorced by his wife.

go search find that man he may help you, you can share your experiences.

Did he know that you were getting married for green card only? If he did, then ask him for a divorce. He should be wiling to sign the paper if he doesn't want to remain married. If he did not know that you were getting married for GC only, then you pretty much duped him. You should be ashamed for that.

But the main thing is that he does not have any right to treat you badly. Get an attorney and file for divorce. Do not mention that you got married for GC only. If he has physically abused you then your case is even stronger. You can keep your GC and SSN. But if he can prove that you duped him to get married and you knew that you planned on leaving him after getting GC, the yo are shit out of luck.

I think for women they're little nicers , and even let you keep the green card... don't bare the abuse because it is a long process and not worth it...

I know as well as anybody else here on Sajha what a tough life US and Canada is. So I would actually stick with my husband if I were you. It makes it easier to get by you know.

Time's advise is bullsssyyytt. Why would you want to stick with a husband or a wife , if the relationship is abusive, not respectful and not giving you ture joys. Of course, your marriage was based on pillars of lies so no wonder it crashed. Do not be suprised, or shocked , although you didn't expect it was going to be this bad, it was a seed of bad outcomes and thats what you're seeing now.
However, what happened in the past does not mean you should let bad things happen to you. You should try to correct your mistake with minimal damage to anyone, including yourself. I suggest you to go see a lawer. They're and even BCIS is very sympathatic towards women. They should let you keep your status. if you have guts to be honest , and you believe in the fruit of karma tell them the truth. If you're ordinary person like most of us, consult a cunning lawer.

there are lot of so called innocent nepali girls coming to US to get GC by marriage. and then once they get here they say Guy beat them and abused and all kinds of such liees and get then they get a divorce and the US govt rewards them by giving not only GC but also half of husbands assets $$$$$$...
