I was in favour of Maoist from the begining.So,I was banned from Sajha for some time for my pro-maoist views and there were bunch of guys who were telling to wait until the result of CA polls before I resume my discussions.Anyway, Maoist are lot better than those corrupt parties and have some vision to guide republic Nepal.

Prachanda was elected with more than 20,000 votes, double the number his nearest contestant from Nepali Congress got.

He is also in leading in a constituency in the remote Rolpa district in the cradle of the Maoist insurgency with more than 6,000 votes respectedly.

His closest competitor almost there has got just 1,000 votes so far.

With Prachanda's victory, the Maoists are leading the election tally now with 13 candidates elected so far, ~ followed by Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala's Nepali Congress from which four candidates have won......

Isn't this ridiculas. A maoist supportor talking about democracy. I'm sure maoist has exercised democracy in nepal at the highest level by killing 15 thousands innocent people. And somebody is claiming here that this election is the beginning of true democracy. Maoist Communism and Democracy. Are you kidding me ? May be you should rephrase your statement...say 'Demoncracy' instead. We will see prad07 or whoever. Killing people is much more easier than developing a nation. You are very good at the former I'm sure you are not for the later. With Maoists jungali mentality, I don't see any hope. First they should act like civilized humans if they are really serious about country and people.

 i think Nepal now is a result from  diluted process, its a  mediochre of sampling being India as a vast democracy in secular Hindus authentical rules while China being the pro- communist country for its next neighbours...people in the land  of Nepal adapt to this scenario surprisingly, or it just part of politics. Hopes this  New world of power will gain merits and diplomacy wellcomes from international level.Consense that the fragile government previously is now reconstruct/evolve for a better Nepal of its own soverignity especially in context of the needs of primal Gorkhas...

      Let me make myself clear on my stand ..... I am an communist not maoist........
All forms of communism that we know in Nepal from UML to Maoism are not at even close to the dictative communism that US depicts..... Communism is a philosophy which aspires working class people, suppressed people to come together and strive for the upheavel of the society. It isn't necessary to have one party dictator government for communism.  Communism is not the set of rules, its a philosophy..... it should be set more relevant to the society ....... It can be and has been modified in the past in different communist countries to make the government more democratic and friendly to the social structure of  the country, basically sticking with the fundamental communist principle i.e. upheaval of the community.
     Communism in Nepal is more like democrates in USA or liberals in Europe who believe in government's direct role in the economy of the country (it is different that taking control of Econony).......... But what made nepal's maoist, a communist,  is the way they got the power that is by engaging in a direct guirella revolution or people's revolution......
    Moaist should have to be nuts to try to make nepal  next cuba or china.....I believe that they would make strict punitive laws against corruption, women trafficking and hooliganisms. It would some extend limits the privileges of corrupt and antisocial people.
 I believe they are more democratic............ than the democracy of past couple of decade that we always bragged about....... At least there democracy is enjoyed by all irrespective of caste or region or economic status..... Unlike current democracy  which favors landlords, upper caste people and enslaves the poor.
                 It may be hard to believe for you but things aren't  not as wonderful as you think they were in Nepal..... People of lower caste are still not allowed to use same water source just outside valley and there are still enslaved kamaiyas and madhesi's representation in government job is almost nil. .....
                               I won't say it would all change at once..... Nepalese gave chance to other parties before and they all failed to meet the expectation ....truely speaking, they weren't even close.....Somehow those parties succeeded to get votes in the second election also..... But finally people  showed that they are not gullible and have gave their verdict ........ they want change..... and they know only maoist can bring  that change.....
