Fundraising - Tsunami Fund - Washington, DC

WHEN? Thursday, Jan 13, 2005
WHAT and HOW MUCH? Somefriends are organizing a
fundraising happy hour here in Washington, DC this thursday to help this
cause. It would mean the world to us if everyone could atleast drop by,
even for a little while. Here are the details:

How it will work:
Option 1: Make a donation at the door and get special prices for drinks
Option 2: Pay normal prices for drinks with the donation included.

So, THE MORE YOU DRINK, THE MORE YOU ARE HELPING. < ----->( LOL) hahahaha

The Cause:

Help raise funds to Rebuild the Samaritan Children Home in Navalady,
SriLanka.

I hope you can all make it. Please pass this on to everyone you know. The
more the merrier.
*************************************************

Nothing personal, but just thought it was funny. hahaha... no offence to the people concerned. Go to check in this link for more details :)

Ah San, it saddens me that you did have to s-pe-l-l it out for those one dimensionals who do not have the capacity to discern the the thoughts behind the act of setting up a charity fund. Even the 3 year olds in my classroom have greater emotional intelligence than that.

Again, thank you for all that you do!

I do not want to start any rage, but it does hurt when you see the same Sitara or Nepe who use to write abt defending humanity, didnt even upload a single piece dedicating it to the victims." Really, Confused, you contradict yourself with every other sentence you write! :)

Sitara, is it you who lacks the capability to understand my writings or is it just me, who writes poor? Maybe its the latter one. So here, let me make it clear.

Sitara, like i said earlier, whatever you do, isnt my bussiness. You care or do not care, I simply dont care

--- Have i asked you, have a forced you in any way, have i even talked with you abt this issue? Answer is no, so then let me make myself clear that i have no interest in what you do. So being a person who loves diff. minds, opinions, and stlye, i simply do not care on what you do and what you dont do.

but it does hurt when you see the same Sitara or Nepe who use to write abt defending humanity, didnt even upload a single piece dedicating it to the victims."

---Yes, i do not care what you do, but within myself i did beilive and still do beilive that you are same as me, a person who has immense respect for humanity. So, i did expect soemthing form you, not because i care, because i knew you cared. This is what gave me pain, my assumtion, not that piece of dedication that you did not even bother to write.

"Indisguise, I have usually believed that a good cause needs no justification but NOT in this case."
---> Sitara, Yes i would love to agree with you, but unfortunately, you are talking in an IDEAL WORLD, where people from different back ground and understanding would obviously UNDERSTAND. But unfortuantely we live in REAL world, where ALMOST all actions needs to be voiced, if not justified. :)

"The color of a person's mourning is a personal choice, like the choice of undergarments; some flaunt it and others don't. Boxers or briefs (or nothing); polka dots or stripes, wear it, the way one chooses to! "
-------------> True. I agree. 100%. PERSONAL choice. But i beg to differ on sajha being a PERSONAL PLACE of ANYONE. NOt now, I believe its my place, yours, confused, ,foe, matrix etc and ofcourse SAN's. Succinctly, it is a PUBLIC forum. And public forum has certain obligations (not responsibility, if it was, we would not be discussing this) towards the sentiments of all and sundry. Thus sajha should have posted a condolence msg, instead of assuming that accepting a donation for the victims( which is totally justified and hugely impressive and comendable act) would be interpreted as condolence. Perhaps it is. Now that San pointed it out, i see his point of view and i kind of agree with it. Nevertheless, I believe a small msg of condolence from sajha on its homepage would have been something sajha could have done with.

"Ah San, it saddens me that you did have to s-pe-l-l it out for those one dimensionals who do not have the capacity to discern the the thoughts behind the act of setting up a charity fund. Even the 3 year olds in my classroom have greater emotional intelligence than that.

-------------> Hmmmmm, "one dimensionals"----well, as far as i can see, we ( one dimensionals) have appreciated and participated in the charity fund. I was merely voicing my opinion. If that does not exactly match with yours, we become "one -mentionals" ...."who do not have the capacity to discern the the thoughts behind the act of setting up a charity fund". We understand you, atleast ur stand on this view. Now please try to undrstand us as well, instead of terming us with some degrading remarks :)

Neverthless ur remarks are succulent. Perhaps, you could not help it :p

Am posting this again coz i want you to read it again. What u posted :). Do u seriously think we can not discern the thoughts behind the act of setting up a fund. Now u r gonna say, if we did we would not be whining ( as u would like to put it ). But hellooooooooo, can't we even mention that sajha should have put a condolence msg on its hoempage, when it can put 100's of pics and other information ( by the way san, i enjoy the pics too :) )
Are u serious about ur 3 yr olds have greater intelligence than that. If thats the case, sitara ji, u should be the one who should be in that class studying and learning from them. :) Aaaaaahh now tell me ofcourse , i learn from them, tell us a great human story how u learn from one certain action, words, paint a vivid picture and let us enjoy ur commendable power to put ir thoughts in action .:p.
( Just so that u might term me with some another interesting word, lemme tell u, i believe even 3 yr old can teahc us something... and if we keep our eyes open we can learn from just about from anything, anyone :p). I hope to be in ur class to lear being sarcastic and a good one at that. And ahhhhhhh ofcourse, as succulently as possible :p)

And San, " And thank you for all that you do". We appreciate it.

Bravo confused!! Well said.

At least you got the guts to argue with Sitara. Carry on, bro (y)

And as for you, Sitara. You are one of the most superficial, hypocrite, and whining person I have ever seen. As confused said, you are always writing fictional articles about changing the world and creatng an utopia but when it comes to the time of need you are nowhere to be found. Besides, you can't even see somebody else express their concern in time of need. When somebody mourns in a sad situation, you become sarcastic and blame them for whinning. You are afraid that you might lose your charm to that person and you defend youself by calling them whinner and what not. You remind me of Amrish puri's (god bless his soul) charater in a movie in which he acted as a politician.

Sitara, I know you are a nice person in reality but don't be so artificial in here. Get real, girl! Don't treat this site just as a cyberplace; Sajha is a community. Maybe it is just me, but I see every user of this site (both writers and silent readers) as friends, who have feelings and emotions, who like to enjoy good times and mourn in bad times. Please don't treat us as fictional characters who would be spellbound by your stories and agree with whatever you say.

- u_day

p.s.Sitara must be mad at me now and I am fully aare of how she is going to reply this.

U-Day!

I asked San to set up the Tsunami fund and and he has kindly done so. I appreciate that. The action speaks for itself. And it suffices for me. Outside of Sajha, what I have or have not done is irrelevant here.

Neither Confused, nor Indi, nor Sajha nor you have to WAIT for Sitara or Nepe to Write the much wanted words of Condolence in Sajha!
Go ahead, write the wordse! What are you waiting for... another Tsunami? !!!!!!!!!!

As for hypocrisy, Sire, you must have internalized it damn well to recognize it in me and the Tsunami Fund.

Indi, surely, I would love to invite you to my class. This in all earnesty. :)

As for my writing(condolences or others....), I write when I choose to... not out of external pressure/s nor of expectations put on me. When/If I feel the need or the desire to express... I write. Please refrain from wasting your expectations on what I should or should not write.

And Uday, guess what.... it still remains a cyberspace for me.... if you've made it your reality...hey go ahead, whatever floats your cyber boat.

To each his own!

If the action of setting up the Tsunami Fund is not enough... and you can't see beyond your prejudices...Oh Well!

As for getting me mad, now that is wishful thinking! Aren't you the same guy who JUSTIFIED date rape(in this forum) if the guy pays for dinner and wine?! Boy, Am I glad, my brand of hypocricy has no commonalities with yours!

I just hope(for your own sake) you haven't committed any.

Peace to all!

"Neither Confused, nor Indi, nor Sajha nor you have to WAIT for Sitara or Nepe to Write the much wanted words of Condolence in Sajha! "

Sitara,
I do not wait for any sitara ji or Nepe ji to wait to write any condolence for anyone.:) My simple argument was, a public forum like sajha, should have published some sort of condolence while fully admiring a fund it has created my poor victims.

"Indi, surely, I would love to invite you to my class. This in all earnesty. :) "
----> I would love accept ur offer. REally. But i was just wondering if ur done with a learning process and just concentrating of teaching an ignorant ( as u might believe) soul like me, or u think u might have to look in to our sense of belief/understanding as well?

Maam', like u said , and as i believe , "to each to their own", but having said that, just the way some ppl might disagree to spend some time to undersatnd likes of US, can we in the same spirit voice our discomfert too?????/

With ur blessing, and ur sarcasm :)

"Please refrain from wasting your expectations on what I should or should not write. "

Sitara, you are a regular contributor of this forum. Whenever you publish something there is 10 replies on your thread in 10 mins. Hence that must conclude something and that something is -- For whatever reason it might be, you are famous out here. So yes, its hard for me not to expect something from you, its like Girija telling me, "please refrain from wasting your expectations on how I should or should not do politics." You are a immense personality here in sajha, thus, "you have great powers and with it comes great responsibilities." So, sitara i dont think you can back off now and tell us not to expect anything from you, you should have thought about it when you posted your first thread and your beautiful picture in this website.

Uday bro,
Sincerly, i did not even want to argue with sitara or anybody in such issue, but it just seems wild when ppl like these, who give long lectures on humanity, fail to contribute some thoughts on such harandous disaster. I am just a little ticked off, thats it.

Sitara,
First you made me go "WOW! Sitara wrote three responses to address me " then "hehehe.... she is really mad at me" ( khitka chodera) then "awwww poor girl doesn't know the difference between an opinion and a joke".

Anyhow, I could see the pattern in your writings. At first you were furious to see me criticize you. Then you were defensive in the second response. At the end you used your weapon of choice " sarcasm". You blamed me for whinning as you do to everybody else.

Confused bro,
I am also pissed off as you are. But bro! I backed you up and now you are saying let it go.... What the HELL!!!

anyay, gotta run now. Don't take it seriously sitara.

I think some of you have been unnecessarily harsh on Sitara. I don't know why she is being made out to be this thoughtless, or in Uday's words 'superficial, hypocritical and whining' woman just because she failed to express her condolence in writing. c'mon, she didn't commit a murder, did she? I don't know if there are some issues between you guys, but I thought some of the comments were uncalled for.

Confused are you out of your mind trying to force Sitara to do what you want? You are stepping on the fine line between harassment and respect for individual thoughts.

U_day how low can you get? Especially after you justify date rape after buying a girl dinner. Just shows how much respect you have for women.

Don't stoop lower than this.

tyehi_moro_ashish , yes it is from the movie Spiderman I. That is why i had quotations around it.

"confused are you out of your mind trying to force Sitara to do what you want? You are stepping on the fine line between harassment and respect for individual thoughts. "

Saroj, from where do you come with such disgusting argument. Let me tell you, YOU SAROJ, are stepping on the fine line between harassment and respect for individual thoughts.

I have made myself clear why I assumed Sitara to write, no one will or even has asked Sitara to write anything. Saroj, be careful on what you say and write. It accounts alot.

Confused you line below shows how you are comparing apples to oranges. You need to at least get your comparisions and logic correct if you want to argue your case.

"........ So yes, its hard for me not to expect something from you, its like Girija telling me, "please refrain from wasting your expectations on how I should or should not do politics."

Comon dude Girija is a politician. Elected by people. He holds an accountable position, whereby he has responsibilities. And he's making a living out of his position. Now Sitara is just another poster like me and you. She has no obligations to post here, and holds no positions here.

You have lost your case. You and u_day's postings are like a bunch of bhusiya kukkur attacking a tigress. Hagney lai bhanda dekhne lai laaz. That's why I decided to write here.

Saroj, dherai bolda rahechau timi nai kura nabujhi kana. If you read carefully the same post, I have written this line too, " Sitara, you are a regular contributor of this forum. Whenever you publish something there is 10 replies on your thread in 10 mins. Hence, by reading that line i dont think i have to explain to you why i can compared Sitara with Girija. If you are still in awe, just do yourself a favor and post a decent thread like sitara and lets see how many replies you get in 10 mins. And Saroj, dont even dare to compare yourself with Sitara, you are far behind the line here in sajha, maybe you can compare yourself with the bhusiya kukur walking around in ktm's street--a creature who is absolutly uncared for by everyone until and unless it comes to bite you, withou you harming him or his house.

ANd i am not filing a case in here to loose. I was just raising the question of human sentiments, besides i didnt think my post would go this far.

Confused, not only are you confused, you like to indulge in blasphemy and exaggeration - blowing things way out of proportion.

Sitara, you are a regular contributor of this forum. Whenever you publish something there is 10 replies on your thread in 10 mins.
10 replies in 10 minutes? Surely you are exaggerating a little, my confused friend.

Hence, by reading that line i dont think i have to explain to you why i can compared Sitara with Girija.
Like I said in my previous post, there is no comparision between Sitara and Girija - unless you're out of your mind. If you insist, then why don't you show how Sitara and Girija are similar? Sitara being a voluntary poster and Girija being a career politician. Instead of asking me to post a thread and see how many replies I get - which is irrelevent in this case, since the only reason why i'm writing here is because i felt 'hagney lai bhanda dekhne lai laaj' with your ill formed logics and forceful behaviour - why don't you make logical and reasonable postings so that you don't present yourself as some unreasonable and illogical guy.

As for the bhusiya kukur walking around in ktm's street--a creature who is absolutly uncared for by everyone until and unless it comes to bite you
you have perfectly described yourself. You were uncared by everyone until you went bite Sitara for no reason other than your ill personal motives - which obviously have been affected by Sitara not responding to your immature 'advances' on her in other threads. As a healthy suggestion, you should try to make advances on girls in real life, rather than in a discussion forum : and not take it personally when your 'advances' don't get you the desired response.

Amen.
