The act of murdering these 13 villagers, who were celebrating the festival, is an epitome of evil and insanity that words fail to describe. Our thoughts are with the family members of the deceased. Let us hope that the guilty individuals are swiftly brought to justice.

my condolence to the deceased souls...may they rest in peace. This is a pure example of arrogance present in the army due to the incorrect system to held them liable for their deeds. the mentality of the army is the result of the regime, the courage is given by the system, the system is faulty, faulty system has to be thrown away to ensure the basic right of living of all nepalis. Lets join hands to condemn this horrific deed and make sure that things like this do not repeat again. If we nepalees do not stand up now, then it will not only be the regime that will be accountable for such act but also us.

What more do you expect from family retainers that goes by the grand name of Royal Army? This is not a freak case. It shows the true colour of Royal Army. Something here from sebsonline for perspective: Paras going to the police headquarter to beat the police chief is the result of preach of illogical senseless murderer as a god in Nepal. Paras thinks that the country is his and he has the full right to do anything. He doesnot think anyone else beside his family worthy of anything human. I clearly don't see anyreason to keep monarch full of people like Paras and Gyane in power to rule Nepal. Anyother senseless person would equally be logical to be there. This another person would free country from all the royal expenses that we have. Common people there is no sense in paying Gyane and Paras to rule the country and beat the police chief. I support all the anti-monarchist above.

I guess that the investigation committe is just going to be a showcase as usual without revealing any other facts. The case has already been closed as the blamed soldier is no more. It's frustrating.

Hey, nepali blogsites have different versions; blognepal gives the indication of involvement of more than one soldier in the incident while merosansar said the blamed soldier has also been killed and he has got bullets in head and chest. How can he himself shot in the chest?

These kind of atrocities will increase as the militarisation of our society grows. This is not an isolated incident where unarmed/ innocent civilians have lost their lives in Nepal but this is the most compelling evidence to show us where our society is heading towards. Our janne/sunne/bujhne people have always taken things for granted. But we are exactly in a situation where Afghanistan,Somalia,Sudan had been once before. As many days the country is in the hand of a military ruler (please don't tell me that Gyanendra is a King, he is ruling the country as a military chief), the number of barbaric killings of innocents will rise and rise. How long are we going to accept this? Until one or some of our loved ones are gunned down by the butchers- the security forces or the maoists guerillas. Wish the ricochet of this incident will trigger a massive uprising and root out the current regime. We coward Nepalese can't take the burden of our nation and watch such a barbarism with a blind eye. Shame on us. Shame on what we have learned and gained in our life. If the whole Nepalese clan had not been so coward, these butchers would have never ruled over us. With disgust, newuser

Very true newuser, I completely agree with you on this statement, "We coward Nepalese can't take the burden of our nation and watch such a barbarism with a blind eye. Shame on us. Shame on what we have learned and gained in our life. If the whole Nepalese clan had not been so coward, these butchers would have never ruled over us. "

I wonder if this is less brutal than the killing of Nepalese by Iraqi terrorirsts. These butchers should be prosecuted once the dictators regime crumbles.....

It's an atrocious massacre. Gunning down innocent civilians with machine guns. The people involved in this ought to be hangled. Obviously the problem is not only these individuals but it goes all the way to the top as far as how things are run. It's easy to say Nepali are cowards. Most of us don't do anything but talk. Even posting here is an example of that. Most of us are oceans away from Nepal and are only good at talking. We can talk the talk, but we need to be able to walk the walk that too in Nepal itself.

Absolute power corrupts!!! At this point of time, the monarch and the RNA are accountable to no one, they don't have to answer to any one, no fear of prosecution at all. What else would you expect. Mass murder, fake investigation commissions. It's the nepali people who is suffering from all sides.
