Indians have complained that lots of nepalese come to india to vote. So, guys from nepal, if you want to vote for Prashant, please go before the border is closed. Amit and Prashant set the stages on fire in Mumbai along with Ritesh Deskhmukh, Sanjay Dutt, and many more. Catch all the action on Friday at 9pm on Sony!
The stage at Nirmal Lifestyle, Mumbai was on fire as the two Indian Idol finalists, Prashant Tamang and Amit Paul rocked the city with their enthralling performances. The show started off with none other than Hussain welcoming and cheering the crowd. This was followed by a grand Maharashtrain entry for the finalists- Amit and Prashant;they looked majestic, wearing Marathi Paghdis, they came on the performance floors from their caravans in decorated Auto Rickshaws, and were welcomed onto the stage with dhols, trumpets and much more. The whole atmosphere was festive, nevertheless!
Hussain, Amit and Prashant welcomed the audience in their own typical ways, and just when you thought that the stage couldn’t get any hotter, Sanjay Dutt made a guest appearance on stage to cheer for two competitors and to also thank the audience for their support during his crucial time. With the festive occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi coming up, Sanjay and the contestants performed the Ganapati Arti on stage, bringing in a Pandit and a statue of Lord Ganesha. Sanjay quickly bid everyone a farewell, after officially giving the count down to the voting lines being open and followed it up by singing a song from the movie - Kaante and by talking a little about his latest release - Dhamaal.
Soon after Sanjay’s exit, Amit and Prashant consecutively took over the stage. Amit made the audience fall in love with love all over again by singing - Pehla Nasha, Nasha yeh Pyaar Ka Nasha Hain, and Yaad Aa Rahan Hain Tera Pyaar… The girls in the audience simply couldn’t get enough of him. Later, Prashant got the entire crowd on their tows by singing - Rind Posh Mal from Mission Kashmir, Dil Ne from Kaho Na pyaar hain, and Bas Ek Pal.
Soon after the performances, Ritesh Deshmukh joined the performers and spoke to the audience about his new film - Dhamaal. Karishma Tanna did a little jig with the guys on - Ishq Di galli from No Entry. Preeti Saberwal and Vidya from Chak De India, too came to wish both men the very best for the finale, and presented them with a hockey stick each.

IDOL PURSUITS: Even Sikkim CM has come out publicly in support of Tamang. Kolkata: Mass hysteria is sweeping the hills of Darjeeling, not on account of any violent separatist demand, but with the passion to see the son of their soil become India's idol.
Prashant Tamang, a constable with the Kolkata Police, has already ignited fire in the hearts of millions of hill residents with his voice and they are now desperate to see him win the reality TV show, Indian Idol.
And not just in the hills, Tamang-frenzy is sweeping across the 27,000 Kolkata Police personnel in the plains as well.
"We are very happy, we are very excited. And now we are waiting with baited breath for him to become the Indian Idol,†says Joint Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, Zulfiquar Hasan.
Tamang is pitted against Amit Paul of Shillong in the final round of the show and is only a step away from becoming India's next singing sensation.
Supporters of their favourite crooner are ready to go to any extent to see their hero win - from announcements for votes in public gatherings to booking PCOs for the job.
The mania has acquired such heights, that even Chief Minister of Sikkim has come out publicly in support of Tamang.
With the finals scheduled for September 23 it remains to be seen if this man in uniform becomes Bollywood's next singing sensation.
