first of all, I am not a sheep. Even figuratively speaking, I ain't no sheep.
And the other thing, I wonder what the so called benevolent Christians would do if a Hindu like me posted a topic calling ppl sheep and trying to preach the Hindu way of life to a predominantly Hindu audience. And that too in a secular discussion forum.
I would not be surprised if the Christians would try to show how Jesus is THE savior and the same old argument about what you have to lose even if you embrace Chirstianity. Aren't the odds in my favor, they'd say. I could die and go to hell but if somehow, it is true that Jesus is the Savior, then I would go to heaven!!

And that is what they call propaganda. Martin Luther (the European one) like others were the biggest propagandists of their time.
Adieu

Since we are talking about Gods and religion, this line comes to my mind:

"I found my god in K Mart store next to the spiderman"
Written by nickname Bhattu, in some poem in one of the sajha thread.

The line just caught my attention and held.

In my case, I found my god in my granpa. My role model, my teacher, everything that I respect is him.

Man, hey original poster, there may be lots of people in africa and even america and in jungles who may never ever have heard of jesus. Do you mean to say that they are all doomed? No one is ther to look after them?

Oh my, and let me quote thyself

"Jesus died for our sin our sufferings,he died for us ,and gave his life so we dont have the right to misuse his life."

Booooooooo.......it didnt make me laugh at all............could you tell some better jokes dude?

cheers

Oh and by the way people, if you are in the mood to send spam mails , you know what I mean.

All you have to do is go to some naughty sites and when they ask for your email ad, you know which address to type ;)

all the best

And may I quote somethign else from the original poster? Here it goes:

"Dear friends its him the one and only living god whom U can trust who can hear you and understands your needs"

Its not that I hate christians. I respect them as I do any other religion that does not preach violence. However when I see idiotic statements like the above -though I am not a homo- I could shove my d*** right up the arse of whoever he is (the so-called ONLY living god :) Just to piss you off, mate.

cheers

I posted this earlier in another thread, but i think the context seems more appropriate here... when will these 'sheep herders' understand that propogandas don't work on educated people?

*********************************************************************

I must say i'm very impressed by the intellectual and philosophical aptitude of the sajhaits... it gets a little immature sometimes but there are a few here that know what they're talking abt... so Let me throw in my two cents (= dui paisa), if i may...

the problem with faith is just that, it is one's belief, so by definition it is subjective... and, of course, anything subjective lacks objectivity...

people have been talking about the creator as the supreme being who is beyond our capcity to evaluate... but that theory in itself is a paradox... if the creator is so beyond our perception, then why do we keep trying to define him/her/it with our own imagination... when we do this, we are limited by our imperfections to describe him therefore, we discernibly give him/her/it human characteristics...

Most religions define god as this 'surpreme' being:
- who must be thanked and ass-kissed frequently
- who will put you in a crater of fire and torture you for eternity, if you don't do as told
- who will pardon you, even if you kill a hundred people, if you just beg for his forgiveness
- who thinks he's the sh*t and all the other beings are second class
- who will send his son to die for a few thousand isrealites, but will watch helplessly as two world wars, plagues, slavery, genocide and dozens of famines ravage the world he created

what we are talking about here in not some supreme creator, but a dysfuntional, arrogant, pompous and incompetent dictator, at best!

Views about the linkage between Krishna and Christ:

It has been believed that there is the possibility that stories of Jesus' birth, ministry, execution, and resurrection were copied, at least in part, from Krishna's life.

But many individuals raise the possibility that the Gospels' description of Jesus' life was derived, at least in part, from Krishna's life story, and from the myths of other god-men. 8,9

Stephen Van Eck writes: "Then there is the Hindu epic, the Bhagavad-Gita, a story of the second person of the Hindu Trinity, who took human form as Krishna. Some have considered him a model for the Christ, and it's hard to argue against that when he says things like:
'I am the beginning, the middle, and the end' (BG 10:20 vs. Rev. 1:8 ).
His advent was heralded by a pious old man named Asita, who could die happy knowing of his arrival, a story paralleling that of Simeon in Luke 2:25 .

Krishna's mission was to give directions to 'the kingdom of God' (BG 2:72), and he warned of 'stumbling blocks' along the way (BG 3:34; 1 Cor. 1:23 ; Rev. 2:14).

The essential thrust of Krishna's sayings, uttered to a beloved disciple, sometimes seems to coincide with Jesus or the Bible. Compare:
'those who are wise lament neither for the living nor the dead' (BG 2:11) with the sense of Jesus' advice to 'let the dead bury their own dead' (Matt. 8:22 ).

Krishna's saying, 'I envy no man, nor am I partial to anyone; I am equal to all' (BG 9:29) is a lot like the idea that God is no respecter of persons (Rom. 2:11 ; see also Matt. 6:45 ).

And 'one who is equal to friends and enemies... is very dear to me' (BG 12:18) is reminiscent of 'love your enemies' (Matt. 6:44 ).

Krishna also said that 'by human calculation, a thousand ages taken together is the duration of Brahma's one day' (BG 8:17), which is very similar to 2 Peter 3:8." 10

Author Kersey Graves wrote a book in 1875 which lists 346 "striking analogies between Christ and Chrishna." 11 A selection of the precise matches between Yeshua's and Krishna's life is listed in a separate essay.

Well revival,
I have been chrstian since couppla months , and I havent accepted him without knowing him,I have seen his miracles the way he changed my life. anyway thats non oif your business..
and after I came abord I thought Why not get in touch with some chrstian guys from net and share our stuffs U know the bible says " ek bhanda due assal huncha" and I realli agree with that, when I am alone I feel like I am lost and at times like that when I get any mail or your response on sajha I realli take it as a challange.
And work out on it and keep myself busy.
Cmplusive bro I am realli impressed with you cause You have gone through bhagwat gita and bible both thats why U are sayin it has been believed that jesus life was inspired from krishna ? beliving is not a proof ?
or you too blive that krishna came first right?
You know even I read a book which says that jesus was born in India ?
I dont blive in all those things which has no proof
anyway if krishna came first where is he ? at leats in bible it is written that he raised from the death and he left for heaven ..
and if krishna came first then why do we read A.D ( After death ) or B.C.( before christ )
why isnt there After krishna or before krishna , why didnt the message of krishna went outta asia ? if he was god why didnt he do that ? he was just after pandavs , specially arjun he thaught how to kill enemies if he was god he would have thaught arjun better things. remember how he sends saree from above when druyodhan trys to take dhraupadis saree ? god was with pandavs and they are gambling over their wife ?
I do agree krishna came to earth like ram did. at least we have proof that ram was there.
I agree ram was there but I dont agree that he was the lord either, cause if he was the lord wasnt he enough strong to face ravan the demon?
Today in hind relegion do U guys realli know how many god ,godesses we have ?
33 carores belive it or not,
Jo pani bhagwannn,

OK. Mr Subba..you have crossed the limit! You are defensive about the religion that you have started following from just couple of months and you don't want to hear conflicting arguments from people who have been born non-christians and you expect them to support your preaching!!! Come on give me a break!!!

We had a fellow named Montou here, he was really brainwashed and used to post like you. He used to say "By His grace, Montou" You know where he ended up? In Nepal...cause he was termed "incompetent" to even take care of his ownself (where was his so called God to help him at that time???).. people had to come up for the sake of humanity to collect money to send him back home because he was mentally sick....

I think it is about time you talk about anything but religion in this post is what I am saying..You are not going to get popular by the christian ideas and theologies that you believe in..
You are at the Wrong place Wrong time preaching about something that fellow nepalese really don't like to hear about!
Cheers
Revival.

john-da-gothalo, it amuses me how you fail to see the paradoxes in your own statements... you seem to follow the 'arrogance is bliss' philosophy... the ignorance in your views altimately discredits any rationality in them, and therefore proves you to be a hypocrite...

your statement: 'I dont blive in all those things which has no proof' dude are you kiddin' me? so where is proof that god exists? where is proof of jesus being the son of god? just because it says so in the bible? if you believe the bible, then why not the gita, the koran, the torah...?

your statement: 'anyway if krishna came first where is he ?' where is jesus then?

your statement: 'then why do we read A.D ( After death ) or B.C.( before christ )' we 'nepalis' don't read AD or BC. It is only an accepted form in the western civilization. It is accepted widely now because of the spread of western cultural influence. There's no before/after krishna, because we're not that narrow minded. we accept the fact that the earth has existed for millions of years and not just 2000 +.

your statement: ram 'wasnt he enough strong to face ravan the demon?' yes he was actually, and he defeated him. whereas, jesus, was nailed to the cross like any other common criminal and died there. wow, that shows the almighty power of god. what was the logic behind that, 'i'm gonna let them kick my ass, and nail me to a piller, that should prove that i'm the son of god' ? what the f@#*%?

and ultimate question: how do u prove solid evidence, mr. i-need-proof, that jesus was the son of god? It says that god impregnated mary while she was asleep, and if u don't believe in non-sense, then do you believe in 'cyper-impregnation'? dude isn't that rape anywayz?

i could write a book on this, but let me stop... i think the point has been made...
