I had a clasmate in Nepal: damaini but she was more beautiful than Aishji probably, but she ran away with a Newar (also my friend). It was a total disaster... she had blue-ish eyes, and was a brunnette ...

Neeta Ji, Caste system did not exist in early time of Nepal's history. It was widely used in India however. Caste system was introduced by "Brahmins" for the same reason "Catholic Church" to involve in politics in Med-evil period...for their own good and power. Being a "Brahmin" mean embodiment of Brahma (God of Creator). Therefore they are superior to every other living thing. My blood boils as I type. Anyway, this despicable system was introduced in Nepal by the king "Jayasthiti Malla", along with the measurement units like Mana, Pathi, Dhadni, and etc. Higher ranking castes embraced it and lower ranking castes tolerated it. Now, you know why we hate each other so much.

I guess EDUCATION is all that matters. As more and more people get educated, they start caring less about the caste. I think that is the reason why the urban people are less racist than are the country guys. I hope NEPAL gets more educated and therefore the caste system declines if not eradicated. Peace

Six Strings... I have a deep doubt about how and why could have the Malla king introduced caste system becuase it seems totally irrelevant and totally unconnected to measurement system such as Manna , Paaathi etc. In what way could he have had been benefited from the introduction of caste system at all ? Without his personal or the interest of some interest group it seems very doubtful that he was the one to introduce caste system. Even if I were to suppose that he did it by chance why there was not a single "visionairy" in the "self-claimed superior caste" who could address this problem. Didnt they miss the historic opportunity to unite the society or at least start a long process of redemption. "Being a Bhramin means embodiment of Bhramha" Well, being an embodiement of Bhramha or George Bush, or PM.Tony Blair or PM Paul Martin or Sec. Gen. Kofi Annan, what does it have to do with presuming oneself of being a superior being ? Do you know the 2 daughters of George Bush are drunk ass***holes arrested for drunk driving. Did their father being the most powerful person in the current world stopped them from being disgraced and have a police record ?

"Superior Caste" theory seems very faulty and shameful, out of logic, disoriented and seems to have completely lost the track of time from the point of view of mordern progressive thoughts.

Hi Neeta ji, Well, here's what happened Many of us do not know that Nepal wasn't a total Hindu Kingdom. Different people worshiped different gods. For instance, Newars practiced "Tantrism" (doesn't mean black magic) and Buddhism. Tantrism is still exist in Newar culture...take a look at the gods Newars worships...Bhairav, Kumari, and ect. During 4th to 9th century, Buddhism was major religion. Maha Pandit Shankaracharya was very worried about this situation, so he dedicated his life to revive Hinduism. After his visit to Nepal, Hindusim became dominant religion. Now how can Hinduism be practiced without Caste system? Hence, King Jayasthiti Malla introduced this system.

Dallipokchi.. Well, it does not matter if I appear smart or a total dumb ass**ole..I did all the stuffs...doing those stuffs is one matter while getting caught is a totally different matter and the matter gets to totally new height when ppl get caught. Parash shah is another big ass**ole who has no regard for his own life nor the life of other people. He should have been screwed up a very long time ago...unfortunately he is living in country that is absolutely perfect place for him to screw the lives of other people while there is far lesser chances that he will get screwed by someone else.
