I need a suggestion from some Sajha immigration expert. I have been working on H1 visa for a big company (fortune 100) for about four years now. I got this job direct from company HR and not from any consulting so don’t have any experience on that area. Now I want to apply for green card but my company HR says because of bad the economy there will be lots of qualified US applicant for the job. They been keep telling me to wait but I don’t have much time. Any idea on if I should change my employer and apply though consulting agencies. I finished both my undergrad and masters from US so I guess I can qualify under EB2.

It seems like you only have 2 more years of H1 left, so I think you need to act fast.

Thanks true. Since the job market is not good right now, is it wise to get my GC through consulting?

Jonny, since you have worked in the fortune 100 company, I think it should not be that difficult for you to find a similar job in some mediocre company. You must have a good resume by this time. Why don't you search for some small companies and check with them if they sponsor your greencard? It's true that the job market is not good, but for someone like you with good resume it should not be that hard to find a job. I would try searching those companies instead of going through consultancies. Probably I would not ask for high salary, instead I would ask them to sponsor the greencard. But it is always YOU, who should decide.
Goodluck!

Be aware guys... BA is not the good option to consider if you really want to get a job. Go for some developer training/job. There is no away you are going to be hired as BA since there are thousands of applicants !! I worked as a BA but now thinking of switching to Developer since I am not being able to find any BA position. For one BA position there are 20 applicants !! can you believe it ??? Stay away from BA position guys ... believe me or not
