Dear professionals and amateurs, I am trying to get a new Nikon D90 (not refurbished). Amazon's price was $1027. Can I get it for cheaper anywhere else (either online or retail shops) ? Please help,

I would suggest comparing prices on ebay. Online retailers on ebay sell new items as well. Also, would you mind telling me why you're opting for the D90 instead of the T1i? I'm looking into DSLRs myself and I've narrowed my options down to these two models. The D90 is about $200 more. Given that the video capabilities on the T1i are 1080p @ 20fps and 720p @ 30fps instead of the D90's 720p @ 25fps, I think the Canon's a better choice. Of course the D90 has 6400 ISO and 4.5 fps but how much would you use those anyway? Let me know what you think.

Thanks a lot Just Sayin for your valuable input. I am going for Nikon because I have always used and liked Nikon. I like Nikon's body better than Canon but you would think what a body has gotta do with photography? Canon could be an option but if I go for Nikon I would know what I am going to get and what I am going to do. I don't do videos. I just sold my D40, heard a lot abt D90, that's why.

RUKDHELL JI, Does your Nikon D90 price $1,027 includes (Body and 18-105mm VR lens)? Another question: How important VR lenses for you? Because it determines overall price. For example: (1) Nikon D90 and (Nikon 18-105mm VR Lens) =$1,049 (2) Nikon D90 and (Nikon 28-80mm & 70-300mm Lens) = $1,095 (3) Nikon D90 and (Nikon 16-85mm VR & 70-300mm VR Lens) = $1,955 As, Just Sayin Ji said, I'm looking for Canon's 500D (T1i) but again problem is finding well combined lenses (here is where Camera Company makes money). I found very expensive while combining Canon T1i with Canon 18-85mm IS and 70-300mm IS Lens). Couple of my personal reasons to buy T1i is: it is lighter than Nikon D90 (so easier to carry while travelling), HD movie mode, and 15.1MP (it will be useful when you want to crop). All the professional photographers out there: please provide us your valuable suggestions. Thank you..!

Perhaps coupon websites might work? newegg.com, slickdeals.net come to mind. Even dell.com has good deals on the DSLR's sometimes. Someone got a Canon XTi there for about 30% off or something (it was over a year ago).
