Do international students qualify for any off campus financial aids, scholarships and loans to study in the US? Meaning private scholarships and loans. I saw some online advertisements but just want to make sure before I talk with them. I also did some research but found dubious answers. How about the FAFSA? Please share if you have any info. Thanks in advance.

one thing is dead sure...international students do not qualify for FAFSA. they can compete for scholarships for watch out for that special sentence where it says "permanent resident or citizen of US".....if it does not mention anything..you can go for it....."legal resident" matra bhaneko chha bhane no problem becasue you are legal and residing in the state. also lots of banks offer loans for international students..some of them are wells fargo, citi bank

I dont understand why Nepalese are so dumb!!! Why can't you ask your international student adviser about these things? Instead of getting answers from one window, why do you wander here there asking questions to people who are not sure of. Are Nepali students scared to talk to Americans in english or most of us(Nepalese) born dumb?

Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it. Yoo smartass RATIONALE we are not born dumb but due to the hostile attitude like yours Nepal is backwards. I did talk with the international student adviser and found out that we do not qualify. However from peoples experience here in SAJHA I just learned that international students do qualify. Should I had just listened to my adviser without doing any research, my future dreams would have shattered. But now I have motivation and courage for my future endeavors. The purpose of social websites like SAJHA is to help each other and share your experiences and it is often very helpful because most of us had been through the similar situations. Just be respectful to other fellows and their opinions. If you do not have a reasonable answer do not post dumb replies. not appreciated !!
