Can't trust these fanatics.

Hinduism is not brahminism by any stretch of the imagination. On the contrary, it is indeed Pashupati Nath's kalyan that Hinduism has survived *in spite of* brahminism. With malice towards none and goodwill towards all. Happy Vijaya.

Though the starting thread is really a piece of trash, its replies feel me that visitors of sajha has responded in really wise way not like the earlier thread. This is really an appreciating part.

About three years ago in this very Sajha discussion board, I have seen an ugly verbal war between people of different castes. That thread was reflecting a ground reality of Nepalese society, which is tangled with various types of negative practices, one of them is the caste system. Those people were vomiting their hatred for each other. One group had superiority complex where as another group had tremendous anger. Both groups were sick, very sick, and abnormally sick. Three years later, I am reading this thread, which is pretty much similar to that one. However, I found that the people are getting matured. Kudos! Caste system is nothing less than a cancer of our society. I found from my interaction with, even highly educated people are also suffering from this cancer. Poor them! Nothing surprise, I have never considered degree of education as a gauge of wisdom. A MD, who has spent 20+ years of education, is skillful on treating diseases where as a farmer who has never gone to school is skillful on farming. Since there are many people who know farming and less people who know about diseases, that's the only reason why the Doctors more respected in the society than farmers. Education gives you skill, better life, not wisdom. For wisdom you have to purify your mind. Once the switch of wisdom is on, your evaluating part of the mind is off, and you will end up seeing everybody as human, which is the reality. From the people of privileged castes there had been big injustice in the society. This is the right time now for their offspring to correct the mistakes of their fathers/forefathers. Love and equality binds us together. Hatred and inequality breaks us apart. We work together, we win together. To work together our hearts should be tuned up. For that, we have to remove inequality from our mind. If there a small feeling of equality is left, we won't resonate. We won't tune up. Why? Because two waves of different frequency never get tuned up. They interferes and give inharmonic pattern, which is nothing but a noise. This is law of nature. It doesn't take a while for me to burst out into tears when I see two people of different casts or culture mingle together like brothers and sisters. Those are the tears of happiness. Most of the time happiness makes me cry; I don't remember I have ever cried out of sadness. However, It will be a lie if I don't mention this: Few years ago, when a girl, whom I liked/loved (one sided :)), went to get married, I was almost cry :). I usually tell just my name to introduce myself because I feel I belong to every caste. They are all mine, I am theirs. Contd............

We have very crooked mind. More or less we all have. Its tendency is always to prove you better than others. Wealth, education, look, post, relatives, family etc could be the object for this crooked mind. Of course, in our society, for some people, caste is another major object. To me such mind is silly mind, no matter who possesses it. Imagine, if someone comes to you and say he/she is superior than you, or think superior than you; what will you think of him/her? We must eradicate this cancer from our society as soon as possible. Thanks to the modern world, it's helping a lot to cure our cancer. However, it's not sufficient because the caste system has overpowered the minds of so called educated/modern people, and it has deep deep roots in the mind. There can be two techniques to uproot the can caste system and bring harmony in the society. One is psychological: Through meditation you can purify your mind and erase the taint of the inequality from the mind. समत्वं योग उच्चेते-गीता। Equality is yoga. The whole yogic tradition will teach you only one thing, that is, how to see everything in your life with equal importance. समता = Equanimity = Equality. Another is physical: We have to give importance to inter-caste, inter-cultural marriages. Those who know me know that I am always pro-inter-caste, and inter-cultural marriage person. You can not imagine how much you are giving to the society by one inter-caste marriage. Even if you have some taint of caste, your kids won't have, and a new healthy society will germinate. I am sure this will happen some day. From the conversation with my friends, I found that people hesitate to have inter-caste marriage because of some cultural difference, which sounds obvious to me. This wall of cultural difference is falling day by day due to modernization and eventually we all will have common culture, which will give a lot of importance to ethics, morality, and human values. This will be the universal culture. Enough lived in a narrow world! This is the time to widen up our horizon. Let's evolve in the continuously evolving universe. Vishowntar

Sorry gusy, mistake. To have minor mistakes is the speciality of my postings. However, there is a major mistake. In my first posting, Third last para: If there a small feeling of equality is left, we won't resonate. READ AS If there a small feeling of inequality is left, we won't resonate. Thanks
