What is going on with your I-485 status if you've filed EB I-485 between July 1 and August 17, 2007, especially in EB3 category.

Here is my updates:

PD: 02/16/2006 (EB3)

I-485 filed in July 19, 2007.

EAD approved - Sept 28, 2007

Finger print (code3) done: Oct 12, 2007

Advance Parole approved - Oct 19, 2007

My lawyer says it's gonna take a while to get I-485 approved.

Please share your updates.

SLIPKNOT_IW- Advance Parole application is for Travel Documents. You cannot travel out of country once you file 485 until you have your Advance Parole approved. But if you have H1B or any other visa this is not required.

I've filed 485 in July31. My Checks got cashed recently..still waiting for updates. Don't know why its taking so long.

Anyone with similar experience?Pls share

Team Player, your lawyer should have your receipt numbers by next week. You should get your EAD in a couple of weeks. I think most people who applied at that time got receipt nos and EAD.

Team Player- do you check online status of your case? go to uscis.gov and check it. I got my EAD approved in a week after I got my receipt. You should also get finger print notice in a couple of weeks.

 Ok Mine is here:

Labor: Filed Feb 25, 2007 - Approved March 12, 2007 (Chicago)

I-485/Parole/EAD: filed on July 10, 2007 (EB2).

Fingerprint Done: August 24, 2007

Request for Evidence (for both EAD/AP),: on Sep 10, 2007 (Asked to submit a copy of petition, both said the same thing)

Evidence sent: they recieved on Sep 17, 2007

Recieved GC without even getting EAD/AP on October 5, 2007

....I was really shocked as my lawyer was saying that it will take atleast 4-5 months to get everything as GC is delayed now...I guess, I was lucky as everything was processed so fast...Labor took about 2 weeks, Fingerprint notice in about 1 month of filing 485/parole/Status adjustment, Request for evidence within 2 weeks, and recieved GC within 2 weeks of sending Request for Evidence....Lawyer did not even believe it when I told him

Good luck to you all...

We filed all documents concurrently on August 17th under EB1.  Receipts arrived yesterday.  EAD was approved on Oct. 23rd.  AP (Travel Document) should arrive before Nov.17th.  Dunno about fingerprinting date.  The USCIS website says I-140 processing time is 6 months form August 17th and I-485 might take longer.

Biggs05, yes you don't have to worry about AP since you have valid H1B stamped. But, make sure you don't use your EAD. You will lose H1B status once you use EAD.

Americano - wow! very awesome news. Good for you.

EAD card received on Sep 25

Got Finger Print done on Oct 2nd.

Waiting for Advance Parole and 485..

americano, lucky you!!!

It sounds like depends on case to case???  I think if your company is big then it moves smoothly compared to smaller company (especially if it is a Dhoti Company)….anybody thinks so?

Can you file EAD and AP by yourself without telling your employer or lawyer?

I just got receipt notices for I-140 and I-485?

Moksh, YES, you can file EAD and AP by yourself ? They're pretty straight forward applications.

I think approval depends on your luck, sometimes! I don't think I-485 has anything to do with the size of the company. However, they look at company background during I-140 petition.  I have seen a couple of people who worked in small companies got gc in a few months. I don't know if category EB1 or EB2 or EB3 has anything to do with this. Answers from experienced people will be appriciated.

Aug25, 1997: I believe you check status online. Have you seen any updates on online message after you submitted FP? I took my FP on 12 Oct, but there is no update yet.

I am hoping to get some suggestions from fellows Sajha:

Currently in H1B

Labor approved May '07 (EB3 Category)

Filed I-140 and I-485 in July

Received EAD in September

Fingerprint done in October 25.

Currently my case is in TSC. It was transfered from VSC.

My Concern: I am going home in January to get married so I will be bringing my spouse here. I filed my I-140 and I-485 as "Single" so I will need to file his EAD and GC after getting back to the US. My lawyer told me that I need to submit his documents and marriage certificate after getting I-140 approved if we want my spouse's name in GC. Should I be concerned that I may get my I-140 and GC before I can submit all our marriage documents in January?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

It's been almost 1 month since I took finger print. No update on my case status. I don't know how long it's gonna take. I wish everybody would be lucky as Americano.

How long do you have to stay with your employer once you get the EAD card in your hand?

I heard you have to stay 6 months from the "Notice Date" of your I-485 receipt. Is this true?

Moksh, that's what they say. This AC21 180 days rule isnot clearly defined, but you can switch your employer after 180 days. Some people say "Notice date" and some say "receipt date". I guess there's no fact date. Some people switch job before 180 days as well.
