If you are "committed", why would your status be "single" or otherwise-- something fishy huh? "Tell you later" ? jeez, yeah YOU want to try ME and see if WE click-- you will tell me later, I was the one YOU were looking for and that you were never committed to your previous relationship? "It's complicated" ? You've been hitting her/him for a while with little or no success? "Married" ? Gosh you're only 18, how on today's earth is that even possible? Tired of gazillion requests of road-side Romeos/Juliets? ################### The 22-year-old University of North Texas senior received a Facebook request from her new beau after a kiss.
"We didn't talk about it, then we kissed and then that night he sent me
that request," on Facebook, she said. "Without discussing it. I was
like, 'Oh, OK, I guess.'" Shinn is one of more than 67 million
Facebook users. The social networking Web site has redefined privacy
online by allowing users to create profiles with photos, quotes,
personal information and relationship statuses. Facebook users
list themselves as single, in a relationship, married, engaged, in an
open relationship or to say "It's complicated." In order to be listed online as a couple, both people have to agree to the designation. For many college students, a new relationship isn't real until it's on Facebook. It sometimes seems users' relationship statuses change just about every time you log on to the Web site.
Thanks to the main page's "news feed," which keeps tabs on everyone a
user has listed as a friend, users can see every change their friends
have made to their account, including up-to-the-minute reports on
whether couples are still together. Little red broken hearts appear next to a user's name if he or she recently went from "in a relationship" to "single."
Chris Neal, 20, a sophomore at the University of North Carolina-Chapel
Hill, said listing relationships online solidifies the commitment.
When it's listed on Facebook "it's public knowledge," he said. "Guys
won't try to come get with a girl in a relationship and girls won't
come to get with a guy. It's like marking your territory."
Neal, along with Taikein Cooper, 19, a fellow sophomore at the
UNC-Chapel Hill, started the Facebook group "If your relationship isn't
listed on Facebook...it doesn't count!" almost a year ago as an inside
joke. The group has almost 700 online members, most of whom agree with the statement, Neal said. "You got a Facebook and it's not on there, then it's not official," he said. Cooper echoes: "If you want him or her to be exclusive then you need to put it out there." ............... ................ Matt Pestinger, 18, started his group, "Your relationship doesn't count
unless it's posted on Facebook," as a commentary on today's world, he
said in an e-mail.

To me, a Social Networking is a perfect tool to find out Who Knows Who
so that I don't mess with individuals who could potentially provide a bad rap against me to the individuals whose relationships with me are very important to me. For example, I would never hit on a sexy girl who happens to have my girlfriend on her contact list. Otherwise, that's the perfect recipe to lose both the bird in the tree and the one in the hand too.

Hydee, Loote will hit the sexy gal and even her sexier sister keeping his gf entact with him. Polygamy (poly-gfs) is not uncommon in dawgs:p:p Loote, I am also new into these things. You are right on what you said but that doesnt happen in real life. I am not in contact with many frens whom I stayed in same bench at school for many years. Also, what I have found in one month FB experience is that it is much easier to be in contact with ur potential good frens.

hyde, adding to that note, there was this guy who wanted to add me and i didn't know
a bit about him or any of his friends. i found out later that he wanted
to get 'close' to my network -- to a friend of mine in particular
hahaha...i am just wondering now, could it be you? . btw, don't rely on the list and here's why: i used to have some 300+ contacts few years back--deleted more than half of them later on and now i have a manageable bunch who i know really well :P coz i realized i was not bothered about if more than half of them were twittering for the sake of twittering, if their a$$ (hahaha) was in amsterdam or some north pole (LOL)... if their wive(s) gave birth to a baba or a baby HAHAHA....which basically means, i was just exposing my growing wrinkles ( ) to them strangers whom i have no connection with whatsoever hahaha...so, i think, even if you hit on some sexy chick from your gf's list, chances are, you'll still be fine!!!--long as they're just casual acquaintance to each other. don't get too excited ni pheri. Play safe :D :D MAVEEEEEEEE, looks like you know my inside out. :P ...but no, i ain't into any form of gammies. life's beautiful in so many other ways...haha....but i partly agree with you there...i did find some lost friends who i wonder if i could have found without fb. tara, there are not many out there. i don't think people having more than 150 contacts are even in touch with all of them once a month for the reason i just mentioned. :D

LooTeKuKur, for me fines to have lots of friend just the aims to get more friends and more scopes of knowledges without boundries...i am fully agree with you when it comes about violents of twittered then the resettlement of members has to be unavoided. Sampling here is how of some guides can be tolerates about friends;
Tirukural
A daily chapter from South Indian saint Tiruvalluvar's Tirukural, "Holy Couplets."
Kural 781
What is as difficult to secure as friendship? And what greater security is there against foes?
Kural 782
With wise men, friendship waxes like the crescent moon; with fools, it wanes as surely as the full moon must.
Kural 783
The bonds that good men share are like good bound books, revealing new enchantments at each new encounter.
Kural 784
What matters in making friends is not merrymaking, but a stern rebuking when friends go astray.
Kural 785
It is not constant meeting and companionship, but shared sensibilities that confer the alliance of friendship.
Kural 786
A smiling face is no sure sign of friendship. Friendship is found deep within a smiling heart.
Kural 787
To divert a man from wrong, direct him toward right and share his sorrow in misfortune is comradeship.
Kural 788
As swiftly as the hand moves to seize a slipping garment, friendship acts to assuage a friend's distress.
Kural 789
Where does Friendship hold her court? It is where friends find constant support in every possible circumstance.
Kural 790
To boast, "He means so much to me, and I to him," merely belittles a friendship.

Natya, Cafe seems to be the renegaded province of sajhaland. 23 would probably be the last of series. Btw, i dunno if i should say this but this is the only thread where I understood what u wrote or posted. I guess too much for this lil brain. Anyway sajha adage goes like, "Posting is what u can do but not to make others comprehend". So cheers. !! Loote: are u the member of the sajhaholic group of facebook?

Yeah, I have noticed that these days there are so many applications in facebook . Well, some are interesting but of most of em' are trash and there is a group in facebook(that someone opened) that petitions banning such applications. LOLZ
Has anyone noticed that Hi5.com is trying to go the facebook way with all the annoying "Add Applications" stuff . I am not sure if users are liking it a bit!!
But there is no doubt that facebook is very much in its way to eclispe myspace as the number one social networking website.
