Well, the Registry Bill has been introduced to the House on 28th September 2022. I am not hopeful that the Republicans will let it pass though just like that highly hyped comprehensive immigration bill of Obama, but still let us see how it fares. Sexy in Sari would have made a lot of noise here but I believe she is in Nepal with her family currently most probably for Dashain. As many would know, already many states are suing Biden's administration for that student loan forgiveness plan that he so enthusiastically brought last month and quite funnily they have already retracted their offerings in their plan, thus limiting the size of student loans that they are going to look after. Well, the president does not have much power in many areas. There is nothing new in that. Obama himself showed me very well that the president can just be a puppet in this country.
What caught my eyes lately is this news I got to read about this person who has said something about his existing conditions. I cannot do simple maths here to understand what he is trying to say. May be I am missing some details. If anybody can explain, please oblige.
# He is in US for more than 30 years.
# He has acquired college degrees. It is "degrees" not a degree.
# He had many odd jobs.
# He had built his life and family here.
# Because of TPS, now he is able to live and work legally for last 7 years.
I do not seem to understand how one can be here for 30 years and still not get legal?? Clinton passed a special amnesty bill some 245(i) in his time due to which many people at that time who entered legally and illegally got permanent residency. I cannot just imagine what this person was doing at that time when he could have used that particular date to apply for residency. And then he goes on to say he has college degrees, I do not know whether he acquired degrees while he was on student visa then, or now after TPS he got college degrees.
Let's say he entered US when was 20 years old, now he should be 50 or more. Okay, this is America, may be he got some degrees now though it still sounds a little too much. But if he came on student visa 30 years ago and got degrees back then and got out of status, for 20-25 years, this also sounds a little out of line, considering he said he has a family here and we all know American sons or daughters can sponsor you after they reach 21 years.
I have no idea what this gentleman is ranting there, just to get some footage? This is so not done. Opinions are welcome. Maybe I am getting it wrong.
