I have a interview with Microsoft interview for a Software Developer position. This is my first interview in US and have no idea about what kind of questions do they ask. Can anyone with the previous interview experience  share their experience about the behavioral and technical questions they ask?

I am not sure about Microsoft's interview questions, but I will share you the questions I encountered when I was looking for a job as a software developer.

a. Write a program that generates the prime number from 1 to 50 ( I was given an option to choose the language of my choice).
b. What is relational database?
c. Write SQL commands to delete the entire row/columns! ( Definitely go through the basic SQL commands)
d. Differences between recursion and iteration.
e. Situtation where recursion can be useful?/ situation where recursion can be fatal?
f. What is deadlock in operating system?Ways to avoid deadlock?

Search more on google.
They will start with asking you to write some code, if you do that then only they will proceed with other questions.

These code will be basically related to data structures. So concentrate on that.

One of my friend had an interview @microsoft and spent I think 2 or three days in hotel with all paid food and travel. He had to go through series of interviews and they asked him so many technical questions not he did not have to do anything practically. I know there are couple of nepali guys with last name gurung and shrestha but forgot their first name....

I think, before they call you for onsite interview, they set up a phone interview. That is where they ask you to download some software so that they can remote desktop your computer and see how u write the code. After you pass this phone interview, you'll be called for onsite interview, yeah, travelling, lodgin and food is all paid.
Prolly they changed now, and call directly for onsite..not sure.
