Hey Guys! I'm back again....

There are thousands of ideas about the purpose of life. Some say " To be happy ", others say " To earn money and fame " and so on. But still I'm looking for the best answer. My latest discovery or best answer for me is - the purpose of life should be to know what life is. How about yours ???

The directive in life, the moral imperative was so uncomplicated. It could be expressed in single words, not complete sentences. It sounded like this: Look. Listen. Choose. Act."

well well well ...but for me the package of life was always full of surprises n It's not true that life is one damn thing after another; it is one damn thing over and over.ohhh yaaaaaaa, restless mind ,always try to predict things in different ways,lastly ,at this movement my mind finally decided to take a rest with a theory"Life is just a mirror, and what you see out there, you must first see inside of you. The answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything, as given by the supercomputer Deep Thought to a group of mice in Douglas Adams's comic science fiction series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, is "42". According to the Guide, mice are 3-dimensional profiles of a pan-dimensional, hyper-intelligent race of beings. They built Deep Thought, the second greatest computer of all time and space, to tell them the answer to the question of life, the universe and everything. Purpose of Life: Successful Living!

purpose of life is to live life to its rockin limit.......dont be a looser..try and grab every oppurtunity to have fun..u never know what tomoro awaits for ya...

As we know everybody has thier own meaning of life. Their is no specefic answer for it. I think Life is Uncertain...We don't know know what is going to happen in next moment. I never thought I will be be still alive much more stronger than I had an accident and went to Coma for few months. Its not I ma blessed withmy new life I do regrest I lost my Love ones and I regrest to Live knowing why nothing happen to me. In otherhand I am very grateful to this life that it taught me and giive me chance to correct my mistakes.
In other hand I rather say Instead of looking for an anwere to know what are the purpose of life, I think its better n worthy to say what U want to leave behind after your life cause Death is certain unlike meaning of life. So I know what I want to leave behind after my life....
I hope you will also find this reasons to die rather to live...

i dont know how imp. this question is to you pagaal, but for me i have been thinking of it for years..what do we live for? why do we live? is death just a phase of transition or is it the end?

someone above me sated, life is uncertain, which is absoulutly true. who knows, what will happen in 2 secs from now or 2 mins from now, if we cud tell then life wudnt be life wud it? life cannot be solved by mathematical equation (which is considered the "Absoulute Truth" by great philosophers") or by ani scientific experiment. life is life, we live it secs by secs, day by day, just passing thru it. when we are living our life, most of the time we dont even wonder abt how we live or what we live for, we live to survive, which can be best said as "Darwinism", we survive to be the fittest and best of the best, in every way. ..
whenever we arrive in mother's womb as a tiny dot, and we grow, grow and grow, then we finally say goodbye one day to this place..life is that transition in between..living a life isnt hard, it follows only few priciples which is there within every one of us. we dont learn from experience, experience gives us opinion, and by far opinion is not knowledge. to seek the real knoledge for life, we should find those principles thats within us, that can be achieved by meditating in silence, pure silence, where none of these abstract from our materail world can reach us. the day, we find those principles and start living by them then for you this life is successful,

you dont live to die, dying is a phase just like life, death is also uncertain..(like said by someone else earlier) dont ever live to die, because we dont know whats there after death, and we came in this land to live not to die..so we always need to defend ourselves from dying, (and we do it everyday) everyone of us has a diff meaning of life, but that is not the real meaning of life, all of us have the same principle of life, which is the real meaning of life...and at last possibilities in life is endless...

to live humbly and peacefully. to enjoy simple pleasures. to make others feel good about themsleves. to breathe deeply. to know yourself. to touch the lives of others. to extend your love as far as it can go.

The purpose of human life is different to animal life. The purpose of animal life is basically eating, mating and sleeping (minding their only own business).

Since I heard the quote "If you pursuit happiness, you will never be happy and if you analyze life, you kill the very vein of life" or something like that, I have actually stopped thinking about what life's for, in philosophical ideas.
Well, life is how we live it, experience it. And that is also what Zen Buddhism is about: Action and experience and not just intellectual gymnastics.
