Nepal Fined By AFC

According to the article under the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) disciplinary rule, Nepal has been imposed US $ 2000 for collecting four yellow cards during their AFC Challenge Cup group game against DPR Korea.

The AFC has confirmed that Nepal has been imposed such huge amount fine. Nepal's Nirajan Khadka, Rakesh Shrestha, Jumanu Rai and Yugal Kishor Rai were cautioned during the match which violates Article 54(1) of the AFC Disciplinary Code.

The Article 54(1) stipulates a maximum fine of US$10,000 when four or more players from a team are cautioned during one match.

However, AFC has clarified that Nepal team will have no right to appeal against the decision.

Earlier, some years back, Nepal team was fined US $ 10,000 when Nepalese spectators clashed with Malaysian National team in Hongkong when Nepal team equalized 1-1 against them.

Similarly, The AFC Disciplinary Committee imposed fines and suspensions on Tajikistan's Davrondzhon Tukhtasunov, DPR Korea's Choe Myong-ho and Pak Nam-chol for their violent conducts during the AFC Challenge Cup semi-final. Tukhtasunov has been suspended for two matches and fined US$3000 for striking DPR Korea's Yun Yong-il head while shaking hands after the final whistle which is in violation of Article 49(1) of the AFC Disciplinary Code.

The striker will not be eligible to play in the final against India and any subsequent official match of the Tajikistan national team.

ha ha.. tell AFC that that is too polite in Nepali culture..

We are brought up in a society where Fighting, tyre  burning, damaging public property, killing, kidnap, stealing, cheating, corruption is considered so normal ...

Why my/our culture is at fault for the actions of our football team? What is "culture"? What is human nature? J. Krishnamurti once said "culture is the soil in which the beautiful flower of life grows".
No - fighting, cheating, stealing, drinking, corruption, adultery and all the bad that happens in every society is NOT my culture, is NOT what I was taught while growing up.
When I was little we had a hired a labor to do some work at the backyard. I offered him money for tea aside from his wage, he refused to take it when I asked him why his response was "I will not take anything that I did not work for, I did not work for that extra money you are offering me. I do not want to be indebted (rin) which I will have to pay in this life form or another" His response made me speechless. That is my culture where there was honesty and people felt responsible for their actions.
(kidnapping - is an organized crime that happens in every corner of the world not just Nepal)

The politics of tire burning, road blocking, damaging public properly is a leaned behavior which we inherited from our neighboring nation. I am sure this will end once the law that will prohibit these activities are enforced.

We should be proud of who we are. We should know about our own culture, understand it to better understand who we are. Just like J. Krishnamurti says how can a flower blossom if it does not understand or acknowledge the very soil it grows on?
