you can try doing this. take u'r I797 C notice of action slip to the international student advisor office and ask him to write a letter explaining u'r OPT is already active and valid but u havent received it yet its on its way. If that dont work u'r advisor might provide u other suggestion like contacting USCIS (or whoever) to fax a temporaryucopy of work permit to show it to u'r employer.

I dont have any slip about the I797 but I have already received the SRC no.
Is SRC no. the authorisation to work?
Can I start job with SRC no.?

as far as i know , you need to show your employer the copy of the EAD card.

I am not sure but I guess you will have to wait unless the case is already approved. As long as its pending, you are not allowed to work.

Just show your I20 to your employer which has been issued for OPT.
